What activity can I do?

The Longest Day is a fundraising event defined by you! From swimming to
scrapbooking, you’re limited only by your imagination. Many participants choose
to honor a person living with or lost to Alzheimer’s, or a caregiver, by selecting one
of their favorite activities.

We have some great activity guides and videos that can be found here.

A few activities our participants did last year:

» Ericka K., a caregiver and advocate for her mom in Illinois, made and sold
purple stuffed animals to raise over $1,000.

» Jesus V. of Florida honored his grandpa, who he lost to Alzheimer’s, by
bowling with friends and family. His local alley donated space, so Jesus could
sell full-price tickets as a fundraiser. He also hosted a drawing for donated
gift cards and a 50/50 raffle to raise more than $2,200 in total.

» Twelve-year-old Alex E. of Missouri hosted a superhero-themed birthday
party in honor of his Great Grandpa Bill. He has participated in The Longest
Day every year since he turned eight, and has raised thousands of dollars.

» Leslie M., Team Captain of Puzzle Palooza, lost her mother to Alzheimer’s
disease. She and her team members spent the day putting together jigsaw
puzzles and hosting a puzzle swap. They raised over $5,500 for the cause
through online donations and a donation jar at their puzzle event.

» Holly B. of Louisiana hosted Fishing for Memories, a fishing rodeo, to honor
her grandmother, who is currently fighting Alzheimer’s. The event, which
raised more than $18,000, included live music, an auction and activities
for kids.
